The Jitu river is a broad, long lasting river. Even in the toughest winters it manages to give the animals of the East a constant supply of water. The banks are muddy and this is the only other source of water other than the puddles in the Pango Cave.

The Uzima Plains have a high amount of vegetation. The grasses are always green, except in the pit of winter. The life that lives here, however, must walk far to find clear patches of ground where water lies after a fresh rain.

The land here is barren, except for the dried up grass. Dead trees lie around, but a lot of it is clear and grass-free, so when it rains, water collects.

The Kalahari Dunes are hills of sand, not even having grass. It is very hot, and the dunes roll on seemingly forever. Its not the ideal place to live unless you are a suited desert creature.

Alika is an abandoned town, left to rot by the humans. The stone buildings have long crumbled away, but there the shade structures remain, standing tall. The animals can get some shelter from the rain.

The Watering Hole gives fresher water than the rain, and is fed by an underground pipe system. The rain is naturally purified while racing through the system, and comes out into the fresh, clean lake.

The dunes here get rain every few years. But don't let that stop you-there's always alternate ways of getting water. Only specialized creatures can survive their whole lives here, although almost anything can survive a few days.

Kivuli was once an inhabited city, but now the people are long gone. They left behind an oasis, paml trees, a lake, even old scraps of food if you are lucky. Its a good place to be in the South.
